GHANA 3-D ASSIGNMENT

As part of my advanced students' final exam, they were assigned a 3-D project pertaining to the slave castles in Ghana, West Africa. I showed them a PowerPoint presentation that I made after my visit to the castles a few years ago. We discussed them, used graphic organizers in order to help plan their work, and finally, did a sculpture using them as inspiration. I feel they all did an excellent job on this assignment. I wanted to show you a few of them so you can see for yourself. Hope you enjoy them.

CHARLES THOMAS, ARTIST-IN-RESIDENT

Mr. Charles Thomas, artist-in-resident, from The Light Factory in Charlotte worked with my advanced students for twelve days. Black and white photographs were taken with pinhole and Holga cameras. Afterwards the students developed their own film. Photographs were printed using a computer and printer. Check out photos from Charles' residency.

FORGIVE ME, I'VE BEEN REALLY SLACK!!!

Well it's time to start back to school. During the summer I promised myself to catch up on my blog posts. So here it is the day before teachers return to school and I am just working on my blog. Better late than never I suppose. Anyway, these few posts are most likely not in the order that they actually happened but at least I have them posted! Hope you enjoy!
