PHOTOS FROM TURKEY DAY SIX (part 3)
After we left the school we then visited the remains of Aphrodisias, the city dedicated to the goddess of love and home to one of the most important schools of sculpture in the Roman world. Aphrodisias was recognized as a sacred sanctuary and was awarded special privileges that began in the time of Augustus. We visited the Temple of Aphrodite which was built around the 1st century B.C. and one of the finest ancient stadiums ever built.
