PHOTOS FROM TURKEY DAY FOUR (part 1)

We left Istanbul early on Thursday morning. Here is a photo of the sunrise behind the Sophia. Some of you may be interested in the price of gas in Turkey. Well when we were there it was 3.12 Turkish Lira per liter. Our tour guide Orhan told us that this price calculates to about $8.00 a gallon. Wow! Next on our itinerary was the Enka School. This school was completely destroyed in an earthquake back in 1999. Two brothers-in-law have rebuilt it. If you look closely behind one of the classrooms you'll see the remains of a building from the earthquake. The entire school looks as if it is made up of mobile units. Then we visited our first ruins - a wall. I think that this was St. Sophia. These are the first of many ruins to come.
