PHOTOS FROM TURKEY DAY EIGHT (part 6)










Before we went back to the hotel for dinner we had the chance to go to a place where they sold and demonstrated how they made beautiful Turkish carpets. It was interesting to see how they took the silk cocoons, soaked them in water, and then began to create individual silk threads from them. We were told that one silk worm can produce a single thread one mile long in three days. Wow!!!!!!! The ladies that were weaving carpets were so talented and skilled in the special Turkish knots. As you can see the end products are absolutely beautiful as well as expensive.
