ADVANCED ART STUDENT ADDRESSES FACULTY

Today at the beginning of our faculty meeting Mr. Brown had asked one of my art students to do a presentation for the whole staff. Cheyenne volunteered and did a wonderful job. She briefly talked about her and Morgan's two pieces that won gold keys in the NC Scholastic Art Exhibit at Barton College in Wilson, NC. They both also wond silver keys as well. WCHS received three gold keys. There were approximately 1900 pieces entered into this show from Winston-Salem to the coast; however, there well be approximately 15-20,000 pieces entered into the National Scholastic Art Exhibit in NYC. If either of my students are accepted, hopefully I will be able to escort them and their families to New York City so that they might be able to walk across the stage of Carnegie Hall during the awards ceremony. So far, WCHS is the only Columbus County high school to have had any national winners and we have had four to date. Congratulations to the three students and good luck in the nationals.
